“Just when I thought I was out…they pull me back in.”
As a Brewer fan this time of year is usually dead to me as far as baseball goes. They are usually 10-20 games out of it with a bunch of triple A guys taking over the workload. I myself am at work 80+ hours a week from about the end of August to mid September. With the Packers starting up, a newfound appreciation of Premiership Soccer, (GO Liverpool!!!), and thoughts of maybe one more round of golf, some good trout and salmon fishing, the last camping trip and raking up the leaves, baseball is furthest from my mind. Sure, when the World Series starts up I’ll watch when it’s convienent, but that’s about it until next spring. Then it happened. I saw what I believe to be the greatest 15 minutes of comeback baseball ever. The Dodgers hit back to back to back to back home runs to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th. Then, after the Padres took the lead in the top of the 10th, Nomar goes ahead and wins it with a 2 run walk-off homer. The whole thing made for the greatest highlight session on Sportscenter today. Add in a White Sox triple play and baseball looks as if it can still be “berry berry goodt to me”. Lets play two.
